Llama Lovers!

Llamas are fun! They're like little party camels.

How about an 80's travel mug (with lid) from the Camp Daniel Boone Llama Treks?

Or maybe a totally rockstar 70's front-tie sweater vest with Llamas all over it?

Vibrant orange and brown stripe hooded sweater with Llamas and POM-POM tie?

Don't forget to brush your Llama's teeth! Taboot taboot.

Behind the T-Shirt: Grateful Dead Summer Tour 1985

The Grateful Dead 1985 Summer Tour was called "Twenty Years So Far." The art for the tour was by Rick Griffin and features a American flag waving and a skeleton soldier holding a guitar instead of a gun.

I can put it no better than internet music reviewer "fuzzyjenkins" -

Subject: Unbelievable Shakedown! A lot of Deadhead rag on 85 more than any other year. Especially the 70's Head's. Well those guys have never heard this show. This show is absolutely incredible. The second set smokes from cover to cover. Just unbelievable. And though the Shakedown is no doubt the best version ever, the rest of the set is just a reflection of how the boys felt this night. They played Gimme som Lovin in the middle of the second set for crying out loud. He's Gone into Cryptical. All very focused and smoking hot. I lover this show. Not too mention any show that opens with 1/2 Step, you'd better look out.

A Look Inside the Skippy Haha Vintage Warehouse

when you are offering 1000+ completely different items for sale, how can you keep them organized for easy retrieval?

my preference is by color - rainbow order!

on the left are the golf shirts, sweatshirts, and sweaters.

on the right are t-shirts.

roll-up bamboo shades keep the sun from fading, and dust from settling.  in front of, between, and behind all piles are cedar blocks for fresh scent and insect repelling.

puffy jackets are hanging under the rainbow sheets on the right.

i have another closet upstairs dedicated to windbreakers, track jackets, and western button down shirts.

i spent 5 years of my adolescence working at a gap kids store - if there's one thing i can do it is fold a shirt into a regular rectangular shape!

Is this the Biggest Vintage T-shirt...OF ALL TIME?

I have been dealing with vintage t-shirts for over a decade and i have NEVER seen one even close to this size.

29 inches across the chest, meaning it will fit a 58" chest.
39 inches from the collar down to the hem.

It's a Cleveland Browns NFL T-shirt from the late 70s - early 80s, made of the most highly sought-after material in vintagedom - polyester, cotton, and rayon blend. So soft, so stretchy, so wonderful.

Excellent vintage condition.

If you know a Big and Tall person who has been searching in vain for an authentic vintage t-shirt in their size, look no further!

Behind the T-shirt: Big Ed Potts

In the 80's at a Champion Paper Mill in Florida, there was a major labor dispute. The bosses wanted to take away premium pay for overtime work. The workers were pissed.

Big Ed Potts, a pen-name for one of the workers, wrote a newsletter for the Mill "Between the Fenceposts" - in which he posted this poem:

Listen my friends to the message I gots,

This is another message from Big Ed Potts.

Listen I say and read, and listen real keen

About the way they want to screw us,

Mr. Champeen

To them it seems okay, but to me it's unfair,

If he's up to cut our premium pay, it'll be his woist nightmare.

He might think we're just blowing smoke,

But try to cut our pay and he'll surely choke.

We're in this together, ONE AND ALL,

When negotiations come, CHAMPEEN will fall

We'll stand together, it's not just talk,

Give it your best shot...we won't balk.

Between the fence posts is what I usually write,

And premium pay is worth a fight.

We dont want much, not the silver spoon.

This is Big Ed Potts, you'll hear from me soon.

Seems the problem was resolved by forming teams consisting of both management and labor to work it all out as fairly as possible.

Defunkd "Tee for a Tree" Program

I am glad to be a new Defunkd seller for many reasons, not the least of which being this just announced tree-planting program  - "Tee for a Tree" -

 (via Defunkd)

...To celebrate, we've entered into an agreement with weforest.org. They're a highly respected global tree planting organization.

So here's whats going down. For every t-shirt that's sold through Defunkd, one tree will be planted. We're caling it the "Tee for a Tree" program. Vintage t-shirts are already symbols of green especially in the "reuse" department. So it seems fitting that every one sold via Defunkd will now be double green! Customers can be proud of what they're wearing on mutiple levels.

The best part is that we're honoring all previous orders - so among those 300+ orders (and factoring in orders with more than one t-shirt) our first contribution will go toward planting close to 400 trees!...

So check out the fresh vintage t-shirts at Defunkd.

I have 11 vintage t-shirts with trees on them for sale on there now. This Central Park New York 1970's one is probably the most tree-ish.
